Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for fire and life safety inspections, fire investigations, construction plan reviews, code enforcement, public education and information. It is an integral part of the city government, responsible for developing and adopting fire and life safety codes for the safety of the Lake Cities Communities. The Fire Prevention Division goal is to protect building occupants from injury and to prevent loss of life, prevent property from fire and limiting damage. This is met through community education, fire inspections of all commercial buildings, and plans review to verify that buildings meet the standards of fire protection and life safety.
If a fire does happen, an investigation is conducted of the incident for origin and cause. It is through efficient and effective fire origin and cause determination that future fire events may be avoided.
