Water Assistance Program
The City of Corinth has partnered with the Texoma Council of Government (TCOG) to provide residents with a Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LHWAP).
The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LHWAP) aims to provide emergency assistance to residents having difficulty paying their City of Corinth utility bills, particularly those with the lowest incomes that pay a high proportion of household income for water services.
The LHWAP Agency may require eligible clients to pay a portion of the bill before having a pledge made on their account on or before the disconnect date, as stated on the client’s Disconnect Notice, as required by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulations. Nothing in this agreement requires the City of Corinth to delay a disconnect if the eligible LHWAP client has not paid their required portion.
TCOG has funding available to assist with restoring household water services for Denton County. Applications for the calendar year 2022 can be found by visiting the TCOG website or calling (903) 893-2161, option 5.
