Keep Corinth Beautiful Board

Keep Corinth Beautiful serves as an advisory board to the Mayor and City Council. KCB actively promotes beautification and community improvement, litter prevention, and the minimization of solid waste. The Board presents its annual objectives to the City Council, so all City activities follow a common purpose. The Board’s mission is to build a united, energetic, and beautiful community through beautification projects, community clean-up events, tree plantings, gardening, recycling, and community outreach.

The Board is comprised of ten members, nominated by and approved by the City Council and serve at large. The term of each Board member shall be two years. No Board member shall serve more than four successive terms; provided, however, that a Board member appointed to complete the term of another Board member shall, at the completion of such term, be eligible for appointment for another full term.

Duties / Responsibilities

The Board shall recommend policies related to litter prevention, beautification, community improvement, and recycling education. The Board shall have the following responsibilities:

  • Actively promote community beautification efforts, litter prevention, and waste reduction.           
  • Determine and recommend to the City Council, management and program priorities on a citywide basis;
  • Recommend enforcement and additional program alternatives;
  • Monitor City performance from data collected and examined under the Keep Texas Beautiful, Inc., affiliate system guidelines and provide annual reports to the City Council;
  • ​Maintain membership in Keep Texas Beautiful as an affiliate or higher designation.

To accomplish these responsibilities, the Board may establish sub-committees to assist with the performance of the Board's duties, including but not limited to, the areas of finance/fundraising, clean-up coordination. A board member shall serve as chair of each sub-committee, and the sub-committee may have an unspecified number of community volunteers chosen by the Board to serve as working sub-committee members.
