Deferred Disposition
You may qualify for the privilege of deferred disposition on certain offenses. Please contact the court to inquire if your citation is eligible for this process by mail or in person.
Following are the eligibility requirements for Deferred Disposition:
- You did not possess a Commercial Driver's License at the time of the offense.
- You have not participated in any Deferred Disposition program during the past one year (calculated from date of previous dismissal to the date of your current citation) in this court.
- You are not currently participating in a Deferred Disposition program in any other court.
- Your violation was not in a construction zone with workers present.
- You were not speeding in excess of 29 mph or more over the speed limit.
Exceptions to the Deferred Disposition request at the court window include:
- Offense involves a school bus or school crossing guard.
- Offense is for speed in excess of 90 miles per hour.
- Accident occurred.
The exceptions listed above will require a request for a court date (either in person or written) to speak to the judge about deferred disposition.
